We seek a motivated and dedicated team member to fill the Environmental Technician/Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygienist position in our office. To be considered for the job, the candidate must have two years of experience. Typical projects involve asbestos inspections and indoor air quality assessments (asbestos, lead, mold, radon, etc.). Experience in Phase I and Phase II environmental site investigations is a plus. The position requires in-office and outdoor work; some activities may be strenuous while all are interesting.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Design and execution of projects
- Preparation of proposals
- Field sampling and data collection
- Independent technical analysis of data
- Preparation of technical reports and other documents
- Client communication
- Subcontractor oversight and management
- Assist project managers with the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for projects
- General office assistance such as filling out paperwork and submitting reports
- Travel for extended periods, if necessary
- It is anticipated that travel will be 75% percent of the time however, this estimate may change based on client needs
- Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain
- Work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis
- BS/BA in Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Toxicology, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other related field (preferred but not required)
- 2-3 years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection
- USEPA/AHERA accredited asbestos inspector certification. Please indicate which states you are licensed in.
- USEPA Lead Inspector certification Please indicate which states you are licensed in.
- Technically-minded, able to use and field calibrate general environmental instrumentation, meters, and equipment
- Technical writing skills and experience with data management and report preparation is a plus
- Ability to successfully multi-task, work independently and with a team
- Able to maintain field documentation, follow project controls, and carry out project tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement conditions, lift and carry field equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Good safety awareness and safe work practices
- Have or be able to acquire an asbestos inspector, Lead-Based Paint inspector, NRPP certificates/Licenses
- Experience working with drilling activities is a plus
- Valid driver's license and good driving record are required
- Ability to travel approximately 75% percent of the time however, this estimate may change based on client needs
- Must be willing to travel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
