Pillar Level Sponsor Spotlight - First Midwest Bank

This week's Pillar Level Sponsor we will be shining a spotlight on is First Midwest Bank. Once again, the Pillar Level Sponsors are businesses who support our Chamber at the highest level and we are very fortunate to have them. Read on to learn more about First Midwest Bank, what they do as a business, and their relationship with the Sikeston Chamber.

Tell us about your company/business. Roughly how many employees? What do you do? Etc.

First Midwest Bank is a family-owned community bank headquartered in Southeast Missouri. For nearly 60 years, First Midwest has met the financial needs of consumers and businesses with an extensive suite of banking products and services, but that’s the short answer; we believe in serving our customers and communities with midwestern values, which means we also coach little league teams and run marathons to raise money for causes we believe in. We build playgrounds and beautify our communities. We feed people who need a meal and raise children to be people who grow up to make the world the place we hope it could be. We embody what it means to say, “We are Midwest.”

Question 2:

What is your favorite thing about being a Sikeston Chamber member?

We at First Midwest believe that the Chamber’s values and First Midwest’s values go hand in hand.  We look at the Chamber as a partner in reaching goals for our business, our employees, and our community.  We love attending Chamber networking events like Business After Hours and Chamber Luncheons, we encourage our employees to participate in professional development programs like Leadership Sikeston, and we appreciate the Chamber’s efforts in educating the upcoming workforce on employment opportunities right here at home through SOAR.  The Sikeston Chamber continues to look for innovative and tangible solutions for its members and community to grow and develop, and that is something that we love being part of.

Question 3:

If we were to create a bucket list for the Sikeston area, what would be your top pick recommendation?

The number one thing for Sikeston is always the Rodeo and all related events.  But Sikeston offers so much more.  The Hot Air Balloon Festival, the Crawfish Boil, Music in the Park, the Wine Fest, and the Cotton Carnival are all great events to attend in Sikeston that showcase the spirit of our town.  Pair those events with our fantastic dining options (think Lambert’s, Susie’s, Kirby’s, and Carson’s) and our many great parks and downtown shops, and one can guarantee a great visit for any guests of the town.
