Tell us a little bit about the company you work for and your role there:
 
Scheffer’s Office Furniture and Business machines was originally founded 25+ years ago under the ownership of Sonny and Bonnie Scheffer.  Lakeland Office Systems, owned by two brothers, John and David Tyson, purchased Scheffer’s in 2020 and it is now operating under new ownership as Scheffer’s Office Solutions. Lakeland Office Systems was founded in 1985 by two long-term field service technicians with a combination of 33 years’ experience. They knew there was a better way to serve the market. With the simple philosophy of providing quality service and ALWAYS putting the customer first, the two founded Lakeland Office Systems.

Scheffer’s Office Solutions offered services for the past 25+ years with emphasis on workplace furniture. Scheffer’s specialty focus has been in healthcare, education, and corporate workspaces for both large and small businesses.
 
I joined the Scheffer’s team in September of 2001. Having 22 years of experience working with clients in a wide variety of industries and organizations in Missouri and Arkansas, I provide commercial and residential interior design services consisting of space planning, material and commercial furniture specification, client presentations and project management.
  I team with clients to ensure the projects we create together meet their vision from the starting point of design to the complete turn-key installation.
 
Why did you decide to get into this line of work?

I was working for a local bank in procurement and accounting support and very happy in my 8-5 Monday-Friday position.  A friend had recommended me to Scheffer’s, as he felt I would be a good fit for the sales and design position they had open.  I declined the job offer twice because I was not actually seeking alternate employment, and accepted the third time when it was presented to me that I could make my own hours. I felt this was an opportunity to spend more quality time with my daughter during her growing-up years, so the flexibility in work hours was the decision maker.
 
 
What is your favorite thing about doing business in the Sikeston region?


Providing my services to many people I have personally or professionally known through the years.  We have a great region.  It is nice when services can be provided locally to help our community grow.
 
 
What are some of the main values to being a member of the SRC?


Staying connected and keeping up to date on our region’s growth, as well as staying informed on all the events offered throughout our community.
 
What’s something you wish others knew about you and/or your business?


Scheffer’s Office Solutions has a great team providing quality service, and we ALWAYS put the customer first.
