Missouri Delta Medical Center has been providing comprehensive medical care to the people of Southeast Missouri since 1948. Our medical providers specialize in a wide range of services, and our staff focus on offering personalized, compassionate, and exceptional medical care. Missouri Delta Medical Center is located in Sikeston on N. Main Street and our Physician Services network consists of 23 primary care and specialty clinics throughout Southeast Missouri, including Sikeston, Portageville, New Madrid, Charleston, Dexter, Benton and Chaffee. Missouri Delta and its entities are accredited by The Joint Commission, receiving The Gold Seal of Approval®- an internationally recognized symbol of quality.
What is something people DON’T know about your business, or what is a common misconception you see about your business?
Many people don’t realize that we are much MORE than a hospital. Yes, we have an Emergency Department, deliver hundreds of babies, perform thousands of surgeries and therapy treatments, and provide diagnostic lab and radiology tests. What most people don’t realize is that we have a huge outpatient presence. We have 23 medical clinics throughout southeast Missouri which house primary care and specialty services, such as dermatology, audiology, pulmonology, neurology, orthopedics, cancer care, gynecologic oncology, rheumatology, and podiatry to name a few. It’s unique for a city our size to have so many advanced medical specialties available to our community.
A common misconception about Missouri Delta is that we may not have the sophisticated equipment and advanced technology that larger healthcare institutions have for their patients. In quite the contrary, we have heavily invested in robotic technology with the Stryker MAKOPlasty robot that is used for partial knee and total knee and hip replacement surgery. Our surgeons use the Intuitive Surgical Xi robot for various general, thoracic and GYN procedures. We recently acquired an EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound) and the Intuitive Surgical Ion robot to better diagnosis and treat lung cancer. Our mammography department is equipped with Hologic’s newest ProFound AI, a Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) Mammography System with high resolution and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve cancer detection while reducing false positives and unnecessary recalls. We have quality control software installed that ensures high quality imaging with improved efficiency and standardization in breast screening. Lastly, we are deploying artificial Intelligence (AI) in our radiology department to better detect incidental findings for early cancer diagnosis that will save lives and provide workflow efficiencies.
What is your favorite thing about doing business in the Sikeston region?
The support from our communities in the last 10 years has been amazing! We are experiencing growth in the number of local patients we treat at our hospital and clinics. The feedback about their positive outcomes and medical experience is refreshing. The trust and loyalty of our patients has allowed us to add new service lines, acquire cutting edge technology and expand our infrastructure to better support the communities we serve.
