DESCRIPTION:American Legion Cotton Carnival. Celebrated since 1945\, this 5-day festival honors military veterans of all branches and celebrates the annual cotton harvest.  Enjoy carnival rides\, games\, pageants and entertainment.\n\n\n\nThe Cotton Carnival Parade will be held Saturday\, Oct 3. The parade theme is "A Salute to the Stars and Stripes Newspaper". The parade route will leave from Pine St. down E. Malone Ave and end past the Sikeston Depot. \n\n\n\nkeep an eye out for Dale Dye! Native of Southeast Missouri\, decorated combat vet of Nam\, and Hollywood actor will be in the parade on Saturday!\n\n\n\nRides will open daily at 5pm and at noon on Saturday.\n\nWristbands are $25 and regular coupons are $1.00. \n\nTuesday and Friday are wristband nights or regular coupons. Saturday will be wristbands from 12-5pm. Regular coupons may be used all day. \n\nWednesday day all rides take one coupon. \n\nThursday is regular coupons only for rides.\n\n\n\nWednesday: Little Mr. and Miss Cotton Carnival Contest starts at 7pm\n\nThursday: Junior Miss Sikeston Contest starts at 8pm\n\nFriday: Blind Velvet will be the live band \n\nSaturday: the parade will start at 10am.\; Miss Cotton Carnival Contest begins at 1:30 pm.\; Miss Sikeston Contest begins at 8pm.
